Aciclovir 800mg Tablet

Aciclovir 800mg is an antiviral medication used to treat genital herpes outbreaks. It works by preventing the herpes simplex virus (HSV) from multiplying, reducing the severity and duration of symptoms.

For Treatment of Outbreaks:

• Take 800mg three times daily for 2 days.
• Begin treatment as soon as you notice symptoms.

Additional Information:

• Aciclovir reduces the duration of genital herpes sores by 1–2 days and decreases symptom severity.
• If taken early enough, it may prevent sores from breaking open.
• Aciclovir does not cure genital herpes; the virus remains dormant in the body and can reactivate periodically.
